Back soon

Not a good week. You may know I go to a small quilting group every week. There are only about 20 of us on a full night and as such we are very close. A few days ago I lost a good friend from my group. For the last 6 years I have sat next to Joan and we have put the world to rights over a cup of tea. She had a few health problems so it was not totally unexpected but still came as a shock when I knew she had passed away. She was over 30 years older than me but we all know age is just a number right ? I will say goodbye to her at her funeral tomorrow and will miss her a lot - she was a truly lovely person and we had so much besides quilting in common. This has took the wind out of my sails so I may be a bit quiet for a while - not too long though - a bit of quilt therapy may be just the thing.

It is so sad when we lose a friend especially one who shares the same passion for your hobby. Just try to enjoy some of those memories you will have forever. My prayers are with you and your friend's family.

Oh Andrea, I feel your pain. Our small group of 6, lost our dear girlfriend only a month ago. As you, we knew it was coming but still...the pain is great but the happy memories came immediately at her memorial service....everyone was able to laugh and cry because of the wonderful memories she left us. I'm sure that it will be the same for you and your group.
My prayers are with you. Take care.

Being without a dear friend of what ever age is not easy. I am so sorry that has happened. Be glad that you knew her and that you shared great times together. I hope you have a little something she made. Maybe your group can honour her in some way by making a quilt for her family.
Thinking of you; hugs from Ali.

Quilt therapy is exactly what is needed, while you recover from this loss of a wonderful quilting friend. While you stitch you can remember all the fun you had together. (((( big hugs ))))

I'm so sorry for your loss. The ladies at the quilt group I belong to are mostly much older than me and I'm sure I'll have to face something similar in the future. We had a dinner for the 25th anniversary of the group recently and all members who had left or passed away were remembered during the leader's speech after dinner. They are gone but not forgotten.

So sorry to hear about your friend - I reduce the average age in our quilt group by at least 15 years and it occasionally occurs to me that my stitching friends may not all be around well into the future - as you say age is just a number but the odds shorten as time progresses - sending you (((hugs))) for your sadness

I can empathize with you as I lost a good quilting friend a few years ago in a tragic accident when she was out walking for exercise. I still miss her and can still hear her cherry greeting on the phone. "Hi, it's Kathy, are you busy?"

Gosh I am so sorry for your loss. Grief is something we fee because we experienced great love and friendship, and for that we are blessed. I pray the memories of long chats and close fellowship will soften the ache you are feeling. I do understand, and my heart and good thoughts go out to you.
