Ok - I've been doing a bit of this and that. Some knitting on an old project - I will show you when that's done. Some new knitting too - a couple more teacosies

I've also dug up my blue hexagons. I really, really want this done. It is a bit small and I want to make it bigger but I am NOT making more hexagons for this. So I am going to applique the edges onto some border fabric.

Can you see I am trying to fill in the top and bottom edges to straighten it up a bit.

This seems to be taking ages but I'm almost ready to cut border fabrics. With a bit of a push I will be ready to quilt this before long. I love hand-quilting and I know this would look great done this way but I think I will just do some very simple machine quilting to get it done.

I am also working on my scrap quilt but will show you that in my next post.
I dragged Jason to a quilt shop yesterday about 35miles away from my home. I promised him a pub lunch as a temptation. He is always up for a feed so I knew that would do it. We did indeed have a really good lunch and the quilt shop was wonderful. You know when you could just keep buying and buying ? I did get a few little pretties but could have got SO much more. But I am trying to stash bust so was quite restrained.

And thanks for all your lovely messages about Joan. We all know what it is like to lose a friend and it is difficult. I went back to quilters on Tuesday and it just won't be the same without her. I will miss her enormously and my thoughts are with her family ( who I feel I know personally through Joans stories ). Sadly she was working on a beautiful blue and cream log cabin quilt that was almost ready for quilting. Her sister also quilts so I am thinking she may finish it for her.

Take care xxx

Your hexagon project is so pretty...love what you are doing on the edges! The colours are so springy and fresh.
And your new purchases are lovely too!! You show amazing self-restraint (as compared to me!).

I think the dark blue hexagons frame the quilt very well.

Oh your hexagon quilt is amazing! It is going to look wonderful appliqued onto an outer border. And boy, I know a knitting project you just finished! And I AM SO IN LOVE with them! I"m going to post later tonight! Just got home from Paducah!

The fabrics are beautiful, is the blue as vibrant in the leaf print as it looks on the web. I can see how you could not resist these.

Your tea cozies are so cute. Would be fun to have a cup of tea while reading a good book. Things like this just make the pleasure of reading so much better.

And of course, I just love the hexagon quilt. Have you decided on a border yet. Just looking at it I keep thinking a stripe border would be so pretty - I'll look forward to see what you do.

Your hexagon quilt is a similar design to mine but you've got so much more done than me. I like the way you've edged it and it will help me decide what to do when I get that far!
Love the new spotty edges to your blog!

My condolences at the loss of your friend.
Another bunch of gorgeous fabrics you have chosen.
Love those Tea Cosies too. My mother knitted them, & I have not even got one- I dont drink tea, but others do. I am not sure how I missed out on a cosy.

The tea cozies are adorable. I wondered what the two color stitch was that you used as it would look great on a sweater too! I love to knit but don't always have the time with stitcheries and sewing that I want to do.

How big are the hexagons are you are working with? I had to smile when I read that you are NOT making the piece bigger. No one said that all quilts had to be bed side, right?

Love your pretty tea cozies! I have a very similar hexagon quilt...must do something with it, but like you, I don't want to add another single hexagon! Yours is so pretty.

Recently my DH (who isn't very computer-savvy) wanted to order a book from Amazon. He found 'one-click' and ordered using that. Minutes later I heard howls of rage coming from the computer room. 'Whatever's the matter?' 'I've just ordered a book from Amazon, and I've made a mistake. They're sending me a book on tea cosies, and I definitely didn't order that!' 'No, dear. I did.' It was a present for my Mum and she absolutely loves it! Thanks for the recommendation.

Those hexagons look so lovely! You have already accomplished so much on it...it makes me think about how much I _haven't_ done on my hexagons. Love the cozies, too...
