OK - I admit it....

I got carried away with the little zig-zag blocks. Some of the pieces in this I've had hanging around since I started quilting. Only 4 years but I'm fed up of seeing them - lol ! However after making this there are still a few of them lurking about. Bad fabrics never die I'm sure !! I bought a lot of fabric from Ebay in the early days and quite a few of them are a bit suspect.

Anyway when I got to the borders I was determined to get them done. Very often this is where I stall. I think I am borderly-challenged.... Because I already had some squares and rectangles cut that is what I used and I like the effect. I have tons of that Moda purple fabric so that went in too. I have enough to use for the back too although don't know when I will get round to quilting it.

Once that was done I decided to make a little quilt for a change. Keep getting sidetracked and making unintentional quilts - lol !! Don't know what it is but my quilts always turn out bigger than I planned..Anyway I am doing some paper piecing with little itty-bitty pieces. Looky at this mess -

With a bit of luck I will get some more done on this today but I have a distraction.

Poor Patrick was sent home from school yesterday feeling grotty. Griping pains in his tum and a really sore throat so I think he's coming in for something. He's just started reading the Harry Potter books so I will try and get him to lie quietly and read.
It's a gorgeous Autumn morning here - the grass is lovely and frosty and the sun is out. Beautiful weather and I love it. Roll on the dark nights !!

I too love the quilt behind Patrick, and the baby quilt turned out beautifully.Who wouldn't be thrilled to get such a lovely gift?
The paper piecing is tiny, and almost as messy as our letter-making in Tonya's class. Keep showing us progress reports.

I like your zig-zag quilt....but oh what a mess you have on that floor from paper piecing! :-) Paper piecing and "me" don't fit together very well...so I just admire what others do. Hope you will show us what you are working on.

Here's wishing the big guy feels better soon!

That really does show us that you don't sleep. Only a couple of days ago you were talking about doing a few more blocks on your zigzag quilt and here today it's finished. Looks terrific by the way, and your mess on the floor isn't too bad, plus it's a productive mess. Hope Patrick feels better real soon.

Borderly challenged - we should start a club b/c I am right there with you! But the borders on the zig zag quilt look terrific.

Your quilt of many colours looks great! The border is very suitable, I think!
And Patrick is a very handsome man, so hope he is better.
And yes, the quilt on the back of the sofa is very nice.

Love the zig-zag quilt. Brilliant how if you put lots of bits of unloved fabric together they turn into wonderful quilts! You don't say how big it turned out, but it looks like it would make a great lap quilt :)

I am always amazed at what scraps make for beautiful quilts. Your zig zag top is no exception! So many bright colours and a great border too!
I hope Patrick gets well soon. We have a nasty cold going around here too and my DS and I caught it, just before half-term! Take care.

Your zigzags are great! Paper piecing does make quite a mess, but your finished project will be so cute!

I, too, get stuck with borders; but once I set my mind to doing them I often wonder why they stop me in the first place. Lovely zig-zag quilt.

Great colours in the zig zag quilt. I 've never tried paper piecing (and have a sneaking suspicion that I never will) but it does seem to give beautiful results.
