Here is my version of Bonnies latest mystery quilt. As you see I largely went with her colour choices but changed the 9-patches from pink to blue. Fingers crossed it turns out as lovely as some of the others I've seen. I originally decided not to make such a large quilt so thought I would make half the amount of blocks - 15 instead of 30. But now I've changed my mind and am doing 24. I THINK I have enough of the dark brown fabric - it will be close. I have loads more of all the others. The indigos were a gift from Karol-Ann . And I have been biding my time waiting for something special to use them in. Hopefully I will get a lot more done this week.

Whilst doing the obligatory New Year sort out of my sewing stuff I came across a small pile of abandoned hexagons - ready basted and all. So stitched them together and appliqued them onto this stripy stuff ready to hand-quilt. Not sure what this will be - maybe a table mat. At least they'll be used. Can't remember what they were originally intended for.

And here is what I made Fiona for our swap. I think she liked it - lol !

Which opens into this

Although a bit fiddly they are nice to make.
I am all out of time and need to shift myself. I am going to try and post a little more often - as with us all time is our enemy.
See you soon x

What a totally cool box! How could she not love it? Bonnie's mystery quilt is looking great, I think your colors work well. It's so much fun to see all the versions of this all over the blogosphere.

Did you make the box from A-Z? It looks great.

Interesting block... should make a nice secondary pattern when joined to more of the same. As for the box, did you have a pattern from a book or find it on the Internet? Very nice!

I love the pink box. I am making Bonnie's mystery quilt too. I am still on step two, though. I am using green in place of the pink. Yours is looking lovely. Winona

Bonnie's mystery quilt is looking good - and what a great use for Karol-Ann's indigo fabrics.

Please tell us where you got the pattern for that box; I don't think I can live without one!

Can't wait to see your version of the DD, the blue ninepatches will make it look so different.

Love the colours you have used in Bonnie's latest quilt. I've pulled fabric but not started yet. Soon I hope. The box you made as a gift is stunning. Well done.

I think that Bonnie's mystery quilt is coming along great. I like the colors you chose. I do that sometimes, say I am not going to make it so big and then go back up again. I think in the end you will be happy doing that. The sewing box is great, I have seen them done up here and they are a terrific gift.

Glad you are using the indigos (so am I) AND I have that brown fabric in my stash, SO... if you need any it's yours!!!

I've got two long seams through the centre to do on my top and it's in one piece. I love it, but the different ninepatch colour will make yours individual. I want to see it in one piece- not to put any pressure on you!
And for goodness sakes if there's a pattern to be had for that box can you please tell Keryn, I'm getting sick of her whining about how much she wants it!

Oh, what a pretty sewing box! I'm sure Fiona is thrilled to have received it!

Lovely version of Bonnie's DD quilt - isn't it funny how you start out wanting to make a small quilt, and then you get going and it grows on you (litterally).

I love the way the box is constructed. Clever you and lucky Fiona.
Would you be able to tell us how to make it? Or, what pattern you used please.

Love your Mystery colors. I got my top sewed together tonight except the borders. I am going to figure out how many pieces in this bugger! Plenty, huh? I really had fun with it though.
