Never again !!

Well my cross-your-legs cough developed into full blown flu and infected sinuses - how terribly convenient just before Christmas - lol ! I feel weak and am sick to the back teeth of coughing. Over the worst now which is just as well as along with everyone else I have a ton of stuff to get done. I won't panic - not in my nature. Will just plod along and hope for the best.

One good thing about being unable to run around at my usual pace was I got the 15 year old sampler done. Here are a couple of photos of the HAND- quilting. AARGGH. So much cross hatch quilting in them sashings.

I will never be persuaded/ cajoled/ bribed again to do something like this. Lesson learned ! It did look lovely when done though. I'm glad I perservered. It has been passed on to my friend who will pass it on to it's owner. My quilt group have assured me she will love it. So glad it's done and out of the way. DH Jason has never heard me moan so much in my life - lol !

Got a couple of little Christmas swaps to finish up so no photos of those yet.

Quick post this - got to wrap up my pressies - well got to buy them first actually. Haven't dug out the decorations or anything like that yet. Help . . .
One last thing - I have signed up for the pocketfullofmysteries quilt. I have printed out fabric requirements and may sort out something later. I think the first clue is published Christmas Eve - what fun ! See ya.

I'm sorry to hear you've been so sick. I think I'm heading in that direction, so I'm trying to finish things up before I get too bad. One of those things is your swap quilt...if I'd machine quilted it, it would have been done weeks ago, but I'm to the borders and it will be finished soon. As soon as I get a minute to sit by the fire and stitch...

Please send along your address so I can get it off to you...whenever I finish it! :o)

Glad you got the 15 yr old quilt finished! Wow you work fast.
It's taking all of my motivation to sew anything at the moment~ never mind a quilt for somebody else! I'm an excellent procrastinator....
I hope you feel better soon! >:o)

Sounds like you have the same bug that is going around here....I've found Pholcodine lintus is the only thing that helps to calm to cough...and it is cheap as chips at the chemist.

Hope you are feeling better very soon!

Its good to hear you are feeling better. The quilt looks lovely - a very nice job on the handquilting. Take it easy on getting all that "ton of stuff" you have to do, you sure don't want a relaspe.

Oh no Andrea...I know exactly how you feel...sick and tired of being sick and tired! I am trying very hard not to panic about the lack of time until Christmas and the jobs still to do.
You did a fantastic job on the hand quilting!

Hope you are well by now.
The quilting is really nice! Good to see someone who still hand quilts. I find it relaxing but don't do a lot of it any more.

The sampler quilt looks great. Do you have a link for the pocket full of mysteries quilt? I have always wanted to participate in a mystery--I work so many hours by teaching a large number of overloads at work each semester that doing traditional swaps with a deadline is almost too stressful. A mystery swap that goes during the holidays when I have time off would be just what I need! You have some beautiful quilts on this blog--I've enjoyed reading through your posts--one of these days I plan to actually post some pictures on mine--I've got to get started on that.
