Ok - I am looking for some sympathy here. Are you ready for a sad story ?
Yesterday I took my Mum out for some Christmas shopping. As she doesn't walk so good and is recovering from an operation we went quite early so I would be back in plenty of time for Patrick coming out of school. We went and got some presents etc and then I went to the supermarket for food. Then I arrived home. Amongst the letters was a card to say a parcel had tried to be delivered but was too big for my letterbox. This has happened to me many times and no problems. The parcel gets taken back to our local sorting office and when you produce the card the postman left they go and get your package. Brilliant !! I knew this was my SSCS pressie as it couldn't be anything else.
So off we went to the PO ( only about 3 miles away ) and after waiting in the queue for 10 minutes I gave in my card. The very nice man checked my ID then checked his list for my name. How strange - my name was not on the list ! Off he went and after a while he came back and explained for some reason my parcel was not on the list so he had some-one physically checking all the packages in the store-room for mine. More waiting only to be told that it wasn't there and they could only presume that the delivery man had not returned to the depot yet so my parcel wasn't there. This was 7 hours after the time of non-delivery. After promising me it would be re-delivered in the morning there was nothing I could do but return home. Nearly an hour wasted but there you go.
So this morning when I saw the bright red van turn into my street I was primed for action only to see it drive straight past without stopping. Bummer !!
Tried repeatedly phoning the Postal depot to see what had gone wrong but if there was anyone there they weren't answering the phone. I am very disappointed and will now have to wait 2 days til Monday to see if it arrives then. If not I will have to traipse down to the depot again and demand my pressie - boo hoo.
Honestly nothing ever goes right !
To cheer myself up I am going to play with my 1930's stars. I have a couple of free hours now. Will let you know how things go !

Oh poor Andrea, I'd be ticked off too, if it were me. Hope they find it ok, for you. Enjoy playing with your stars and if that doesn't work try some chocolate or a glass of wine or three or four....lol...
Oh, how frustrating to know there is a parcel and not get it. I hope you have better luck on Monday. If not, you may have to speak sternly to your delivery person.
Isn't that just like a postMAN! He should know a girl really needs her surprise package. I understand your frustration and you do have my sympathy!
I hope you have lots of fun playing with the stars. Be sure to take pics so we can see what you are doing.
Oh, Andrea! I hope it shows up on Monday. I'll be checking.
Oh how frustrating! I really hope it shows up on Monday, meanwhile have fun with your stars (and like Linda said, chocolate or a glass of wine might help...)
Oh dear - I'd have been so frustrated as well. If I get a "missed delivery" I have to wait until after 1pm the following day .... more than a little frustrating since my mail carrier is here before 9.30am!
Your 1930's stars are gorgeous - I might have to buy that ruler.
Good old Royal Mail. They are good a misplacing packages in our neck of the woods too. Hope they find your package soon!
Oh, oh, oh, how very disappointing, knowing the parcel is so near you but yet you don´t know.
I have no high opinion of Australia Post, and it seems you have your problems too. It better turn up, or there will be a quilter on the Warpath!!
The stars look fresh and pretty and the ruler must make things easier. I've never tried this one, but I have lots of others that I wouldn't be without. The right ruler can make projects so much quicker, I never begrudge the money spent on them.
omg so close yet so far.............
Oh man! Now that is tough having to wait 2 days! I can't wait to see what it is!
Oh now, how disappointing! I hope you will have it delivered on monday! Fingers crossed!
Oh I feel so bad for you. The mail can be so frustrating when it takes a long time and then to not be able to pick it up. I'll be thinking of you and hoping your parcel arrives.
I hope they deliver your parcel pronto! How frustrating to have wait.
I hope the red van stops today and delivers your package. Your patience is put the the test!
I hope the red van stopped outside your house this morning with the missing parcel. It is sooo frustrating when Royal Mail does that. Thank goodness for 100% reliable La Poste!
So frustrating.
I couldn't believe it mine was delivered Sunday. (We never get mail Sunday) So hopefully you get yours Monday
Hopefully you have your present by now!
The stars look great - have fun with them!
How disapointing - I hope it is found on Monday.
Back in South Africa...so good to catch up on your posts. Frustrated along with you at the postman!Colleen
