Seeing this was a lightbulb moment and your method works great. I also love the chance to hand sew the back strip as well. So relaxing. The only problem is most of the blocks are Ohio Star so I have lost a few points by trimming the blocks but hey ..it should pass the galloping horse tart! 😁Lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10301035231800242582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1308478399254492251.post-55877511147503271632017-03-28T21:40:55.231-07:002017-03-28T21:40:55.231-07:00have just found this tutorial via another blogger ...have just found this tutorial via another blogger so detailed thankyoumargarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14225676137708827434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1308478399254492251.post-79146696412654324692014-05-08T03:02:18.802-07:002014-05-08T03:02:18.802-07:00I love this method and use it all the time now. th...I love this method and use it all the time now. thank you
I have cut the strips slightly wider and then overlock them together. this really speeds things up, and they look great too
MagsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04312803863159654324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1308478399254492251.post-49463914667873017422014-04-23T13:18:21.754-07:002014-04-23T13:18:21.754-07:00Andrea, great instructions. I've watched a few YouTube demo's but most tell you to put the wider piece on the front of the blocks; I can see your method of putting them on the back makes sense as you will be sewing the binding the same waynanajanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05794165154996536994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1308478399254492251.post-66423153051789046852013-04-21T14:58:00.045-07:002013-04-21T14:58:00.045-07:00This is such a good tutorial, you make me feel as ...This is such a good tutorial, you make me feel as if I could do this! But, I do it a bit different because I do not want to do the hand stitching. Instead of sewing the blocks together from the front, I stitch them together from the back. Then the top strip is folded over the stitch line and can be machine stitched down. If there has been a "miss" of the stitch in the ditch, then it shows on the back and not the front.Dorthy of Texashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01564963579403637608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1308478399254492251.post-85241666862399332532012-01-17T14:01:38.689-08:002012-01-17T14:01:38.689-08:00Thanks for sharing this great tutorial.
